In the context of its ambition to become a world leader in certain targeted health sector areas, BioWin has decided to set up a panel of international experts charged with assessing research projects submitted to the cluster in response to calls for projects.

This international panel helps to ensure that the projects are not only of a high scientific quality but also that they are competitive at world level. Numerous other regions in the world have active research programmes in the areas of cancer, inflammation and brain diseases.

The panel’s international nature ensures that it has the necessary independence and impartiality.

The panel is composed of scientists with an international reputation from the scientific community and the world of industry. It is chaired by Mark Vaeck, CEO and founder of the biopharmaceutical company ActoGenix.
Although the Chair is permanent, the composition of the panel can vary from one project to another, depending on the areas of scientific expertise concerned.
