7ème appel à projets

Le 7ème appel à projets a conduit récemment à la labellisation de quatre nouveaux projets :

  • Mirror - Medical Ressource Real-Time Optimizer

The project was born from interactions between members of the young PALANTIRIS company and IBA, both companies facing the limitations of traditional workflow management techniques when it comes to orchestrate complex processes in a hospital service. Such processes involve numerous shared resources (rooms, diagnostics, treatment equipment, …) within strict timing constraints and in a highly dynamic environment. The final objective of the project is to elaborate an intelligent software tool capable of dynamically optimizing the priority of activities and the allocation of these shared resources. In a first phase, the proposed solution will capture events from any stage of the modeled workflows, this information will be translated into meaningful indicators to be monitored in real-time by the medical staff. In the second and third phases, the software will progressively incorporate real-time optimization algorithms proposing intelligent scheduling alternatives. In the context of MIRROR, this solution will be prototyped on Particle Therapy and Nuclear Medicine cases.
  • Smart - Statistical Monitoring Applied to Research Trials

While detection of deliberate (fraud) or unintentional errors concern at the highest point pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, there is currently no integrated and automated system to monitor the quality of data based on statistical tests and techniques of artificial intelligence or data mining. IDDI is a pioneer in the field, developing and validating an automated system for monitoring and statistical control of data quality of clinical trials, primarily based on multiple statistical tests whose results can be exploited by data mining tools and artificial intelligence – not only to detect anomalies in data due to errors, but also negligence and fraud – some of which potentially leading to devastating results. This methodology and software will meet the critical requirements of Sponsors on clinical trial data by: reducing the risks of a submission to regulatory agencies (FDA, EMA) with a quality label on the final data of the clinical trials; reducing the time to study analysis and the cost of clinical trials by optimizing on-site monitoring and labour-intensive data verification.
  • Stemvac -  Innovative immunotherapy approaches for treating breast cancer patients

Breast cancer is the most common malignancy in women and ranks second as a cause of cancer death (after lung cancer).
There is a clear medical need for breast cancer treatments associated with improved efficacy in term of control of distant recurrence, and with improved safety and tolerance profile. Active and Specific Cancer Immunotherapies hold these promises because they aim at inducing tumor-specific effects while sparing non-tumor, normal tissues.
The Stemvac project aims at discovering new antigens associated with breast cancer stem cells using highly innovative research techniques. The research will result in the development of new immunotherapies against cancer.

  • StarfloPlus - Glaucoma Management Implant System

Research of a next generation Glaucoma Management Implant System that incorporates the latest advances in biomaterials, MEMS sensor, and electronics technologies.  The goal of the implant system is to provide a novel combination of therapeutic and diagnostic benefits for Glaucoma patients and caregivers, while significantly reducing the cost of vision care for global healthcare systems and societies.
