The project aims to develop an innovative variation of the classical technique of delivery of proton therapy by intensity modulation. This new technique is called “Arc Protontherapy”.
This new technique allows to deliver the dose continuously during rotation of the gantry. For the patient, Arc Protontherapy has the potential to improve the quality of treatment by optimizing compliance of the dose received at the tumor level while reducing the total dose delivered to the patient. By better targeting the dose in the tumor, this innovative technique has the advantage of being able to reduce the dose to vital organs.
