Equaly SA recruits for its reserve list (PhD) researchers in Life Science

Main location

Brussels Life Science Incubator (BLSI), Clos Chapelle-aux-Champs 30, 1200 Brussels

Employment contract: full-time, starting with 1-year limited renewable time contract, potentially followed by an unlimited time contract

Equaly, startup in biotechnology, is seeking PhDs to lead research projects combining various disciplines, from conventional immunochemistry, to cell culture, laboratory animal handling, cell imaging, molecular biology and genomics. Equaly is firmly driven by innovation and clinical applications of such innovation, with a particular interest in diseases for which there is an urgent request for therapeutic solutions.

The various projects followed by Equaly share a common denominator, which is the development of new therapeutic tools from innate or natural immunity. These tools include, inter alia, the development of biological agents rendered non-immunogenic, and the characterization of vaccination methods for chronic infectious diseases, tumors, and chronic inflammatory diseases with an autoimmune component.

Laboratory location

Equaly is located in the very heart of the University of Louvain Campus in Woluwé Saint-Lambert, Brussels, with all the facilities linked to student life, a nearby metro station, a sport center with preferential access and a quasi continuous animation.

Job function

The job lies at the crossing of all the disciplines alluded to above, implying sufficient knowledge in such fields, a guidance capacity for technicians, a sense of initiative and a capacity to identify new IP.

Qualifications required

A Master of Science degree in medical laboratory technology, biology, biomedical science or equivalent, optionally completed with a PhD, for a dedicated person, enthusiast and reliable, with a strong sense of initiative and team spirit. Minimum of 3-year experience in an academic or biotech/pharma research lab. He or she should be fluent in English and certified for laboratory animal handling. An expertise in NGS and GLP constitutes an advantage.

Equaly offers a collaboration, within a newly emerging startup, in a dynamic environment, for a team work on innovating projects orientated towards the resolution of major ethical issues. An attractive contract with extra-legal advantages and including a possibility for additional training is part of the deal.
