Financial Controler
We are currently looking for a Financial Controller. The successful candidate will organize and manage accounting, budgeting, planning and forecasting activities. You are responsible to prepare quarterly and annual financial reporting packages including P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash flow, monthly dashboard, and performance reporting.
You will consolidate financial and non-financial data together to support strategic business decisions and contribute to internal control activities, including risk analysis, gap assessments, and process implementation/documentation.
The role demands a strategic mindset and strong teamplayer abilities. You will provide support to the Group Controller (including consolidation activities) and report to the CFO.
The job description
As Financial controller you will be responsible for:
Accounting/Closing
- Coordinate the monthly and annual closing process, including timetables and closing instructions.
- Oversee daily financial operations (e.g. payroll, invoicing, and other transactions) with the support of a Senior Accountant.
- Review accounting entries to ensure compliance with BGAAP and IFRS standards.
- Perform IFRS adjustments/postings for specific items, such as financial assets (FVPL) and recoverable cash advances/grants (DGO6)
- Act as a point of contact for external auditors
Reporting – Forecasting
- Prepare IFRS-compliant financial reporting and contribute to the Annual Report.
- Maintain and enforce financial policies and procedures.
- Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data.
- Produce monthly cash forecasting, and report/monitor cash management activities
Budgeting, Planning
- Support in the build-up of the annual budget, as well as short- and mid-term planning, aligned with strategic and financial objectives of the R&D pipeline and investment opportunities.
- Monitor budget and coordinate monthly variance analysis to identify deviations and assess project risks.
- Prepare quarterly performance reports, including turnover, margin/profitability and cost analysis
Support to CFO:
- Assist with Tax matters (including TP, tax credits, ISOC), Grant applications, ESG reporting (CSRD preparation), M&A initiatives and corporate finance activities.
- Conduct ad hoc analysis, build business cases, and provide insights to support decision making.
ERP and Financial Systems
- Assist in designing automated reported solutions and workflows, particularly for account payable and receivable.
- Contribute to the rollout and integration of new ERP modules, ensuring alignment with business needs.
- Evaluate and oversee the integration between the ERP system and external reporting/analytics tools to enhance data consistency, automation, and decision-making capabilities.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify opportunities for process improvement and digitalization while maintaining financial discipline.
YOUR PROFESSIONAL PROFILE
- Minimum Qualification: You hold a University Degree in Finance or Business Administration, or an Engineering degree with an additional Master in Finance.
- Minimum Experience: You have 5 to 10 years of relevant experience; You are a finance specialist (IFRS, Tax) with project management skills; Experience in a pharmaceutical environment is considered a plus.
- Languages: Proficiency in English, both written and spoken, is required.

Our Financial department consist of 4 employees, working in our Belgian office. We support the business pipeline of 19 value added products. We are working with contract manufacturers world-wide.
