BioWin is a member-driven organisation based in Wallonia dedicated to fostering innovation and collaboration in the health industry. BioWin connects the best in Walloon entrepreneurship, science, medicine and engineering to help transform innovative health-tech and biopharma ideas into concrete health outcomes.
We do this through a series of tailor-made services that include sourcing collaborative projects, submitting funding applications, building product portfolios, influencing the sector’s industrial policy and maximising partnership and market expansion opportunities through various networking events. In 2025, BioWin celebrated 19 years of innovation. To date, we have supported 79 R&D projects for a total budget of 313 million euros.
Your role
In the heart of a booming biopharma and health-tech sector, BioWin has identified the need to strengthen its R&D team with a highly qualified scientific & Project Manager profile focused on the entrepreneurial community and passionate about their growth.
As Programme Manager, you will play a key role in the cluster’s most vital activity: supporting research projects that are considered risky, disruptive, and early-stage, particularly in the field of biopharma or in the field of nuclear medicines.
Reporting to the Head of R&D, you’ll be part of a team of 4 people and will manage early-stage initiatives from planning through execution and will closely collaborate with your colleagues.
The role requires strong project management skills to keep complex research on schedule and within budget. You’ll need to assess technical risks, coordinate research activities, and make practical decisions about resource allocation.
Responsibilities
- Collaborative Project Management: Build and oversee collaborative R&D projects with companies and universities.
- Project Calls Management: Organize and coordinate calls for projects, including the selection and evaluation of funded projects by assigning experts to proposals.
- Project File Preparation: Contribute to the preparation of project documentation.
- Strategic Project & Portfolio Coordination: Support the Manager/Management Team with strategic input on research strategy, partner identification, and expert linkage. Anticipate opportunities for synergies and innovation within the portfolio. Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Administrative and Institutional Knowledge: Maintain and deepen knowledge of the administrative and institutional ecosystem (e.g.,SPW EER, Walloon Government) and foster relations for smooth project progress.
- Research Consortium Coordination: Develop and coordinate research consortiums and support the preparation of regional, European or international project applications.
- Expert Network Management: Manage a network of international experts and engage them for project evaluations.
- International Benchmarking: Monitor and benchmark international best practices in project management, especially in collaborations with foreign clusters.
- Event Participation: Participate in and support the organization of networking events for BioWin members.
- Autonomous Work: Operate independently under the Head of Research and Development.
As a catalyst for innovation, BioWin is particularly focused on three main scientific areas. As a Programme Manager, you will closely collaborate with your colleagues and be responsible for several projects within:
- Biopharmacy and biomanufacturing
- Nuclear medicine
- Health-tech, medical Devices & In Vitro Diagnostics
Your Profile
- Several years of project management experience in the biopharma sector, in a complex environment with numerous stakeholders, preferably in a Research & Development role. Radio Pharma experience is a plus.
- A PhD in chemical, pharmaceutical, bioengineering, or a related field.
- A strong track record in the biopharma, biopharmaceutical, or radio-pharma sector (at least 5 years).
- Demonstrated relevant project management experience.
- Proven experience working with multiple stakeholders.
- Experience in the development of European projects is an asset.
- Knowledge of nuclear medicines or radio-pharma or Advanced Therapies.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in French and English.
- PMP or other project management certification preferred.
- Curious by nature, with a strong team player mindset
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage several projects and tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, flexible with a good team spirit
- Proactive, autonomous, you like to take the initiative.
