A visit of health innovation in Wallonia, Belgium
As part of the BioWin days, BioWin, in collaboration with AWEX, BioPark, and LégiaPark, is organising a guided tour of the innovation hubs of Charleroi and Liège in Wallonia. The visit will take place on 24 September 2025.
Come join us exploring the best of health innovation, right here in our own backyard. Our mission: How can we innovate and grow, together?
We’ll take you on a whirlwind tour of Wallonia’s most innovative companies, where you’ll hear inspiring success stories and see technologies that are transforming the future of health, right here and now.
You’ll get to choose between two tracks: advanced therapies or nuclear medicine. Each tour will be conducted in small groups and includes visits and/or presentations from companies, institutions, and stakeholders active in each value chain.
The advanced therapies track departs from Ecolys and starts with an onsite programme at Charleroi BioPark, a science park dedicated to biotechnology and home to several companies and academic research centres active in advanced therapies.
Participants will visit or hear from:
Quantum Biospace, AWEX, Conveyxo, Catalent, CMMI (UMONS, ULB), IPG/Sequalis, and the European Biotech Campus (TBC).
The nuclear medicine track departs from Ecolys and starts with an onsite programme at LégiaPark, home to more than 140 life sciences companies, pioneers in the fields of oncology, cardiology, immunology, radiopharmacy, and the development of innovative medical equipment.
Participants will visit or hear from:
B2H, AWEX, ABSCINT, CHU of Liège, WIS-PHSE, Radiomics, MedReSyst, and Trasis.
Innovation tracks: nuclear medicine and advanced therapies
The tour focuses on nuclear medicine and advanced therapies, two strategic fields where Wallonia has strong expertise and BioWin is increasing its focus. These domains are supported by local hubs that connect research, industry, hospitals and production infrastructure. The BioPark in Charleroi is active in cell and gene therapies, while the LégiaPark in Liège focuses on radiopharmaceuticals, clinical research, and digital tools. Together, they cover large parts of the value chain, from early research to patient care. The tour aims to show how this ecosystem works in practice and how it contributes to better and more accessible treatments.
